In this page, I will document all the work that I have done for my group, I will document these as journal entries

Week 1

So when we first were put in our groups, I spoke to everyone and got everyone into a slack Group chat

I wanted to ensure that we could all communicate and easily access resources, I then made a Miro-Board after the lecture and since our task was to understand the brief and what it was, I summarised it for them

I just felt it was best to do as it was a lot of information overload so I wanted it to be as clear as possible, explaining the brief as well as what we will be working on.

Mentor Meetings

Then as a group we felt that it would be a good idea to do a bit of research before we meet our mentor next week, so I suggested to do a mind map of the five issues and we each do one and then upload it to the Miro board, Here is mine, I did it on Digital Exclusion:

Week 2

Week 2 we had a bit more to go off, we finally got our mentor which is Richard Good, who is the director of the turnaround project, We had to come up with questions about him but we didn’t know much about him, so we went onto the turnaround project website and tried to find more about him, and that’s where we found this ted talk that he gave at QUB.

In this we learned a bit more about the challenges of prisoner reform and also who Richard Good was.

We then as a group started to come up with questions to ask him, I suggested to come up with rough questions which we would then refine and select to ask in an email, Here were the rough questions I came up with

We then took all our questions and as a grouped organised them into categories:

We then as a group decided on what questions to ask our mentor

I set another little task for the group because I felt it was important to do, we needed to understand who our target audience is, so I wanted each person to make a user persona based on the issue that they had studied. I decided to make two for both someone working in the SEHSCT and a recently released prisoner, to see both sides.

We also need to actually interview our mentor, and my role in the team is the messenger, so I have to email and organise an interview. However, my groups availability is scarce, only being able to come in on Thursday, Fridays. Now granted it is a zoom meeting, so there may be more lenience with organising. But it is very important to get in touch with the mentor, so I messaged the mentor just to say hello, explain our project, and just ask what days best suit for an interview
