So I finished my smartwatch app a while ago, and I thought as I’ve learned and grown more as a designer since the start of term, and I have a bit more time, I’d improve the design, Below were some Ideas/Fixes and my notes on them

Main Feature

Through looking at the mark scheme, the app needs to have a main feature that my App is built for, in it’s current state, It includes listening, thinking, directions, Spotify, home and search features. These all are competing against each other

So I need to pick one daily scenario and design the app around it, this could be “I’m running late and I’m driving. I need some help without pulling my phone out”

Think about what an assistant does, they manage your schedule, handle emails and calls and solve problems. That’s what AVA needs to do here.

I was thinking of creating this flow

  1. Hey AVA, I’m running late, What’s on my schedule today?
  2. AVA will answer by saying “You have a meeting at 12 with your boss. And you have to pick up your child from practice at 4.30pm”
  3. Thanks AVA, Could you message my Dad and ask if he is free next Sunday at 12?
  4. AVA replies, “Sure! Message Sent”
  5. Thanks AVA, “Could you play my Driving playlist”
  6. AVA says Okay! and opens a built in Spotify

Of course, that doesn’t mean I’ll get rid of my other designs, they’ll be used as secondary examples.

Sketches

I moved on to sketching this process, to visualise what this would look like, or to come up with ideas to maybe differentiate the screens

Designs

I decided to create a separate page on Figma for this process, so I could separate it from my others screens.

I started with the schedule flow, and I had an idea of the text appearing while the what ava heard screen appears, like it is continuously listening to you
