I’ve now finished my work and the courses for Visual Imaging and Interaction, For this I had two projects, A music app and a dashboard. In this page I will talk about the classes and the projects and then give my final thoughts about this semester.
The subject matter in the classes could vary, It was all very interesting stuff but I did find myself feeling a little less after some of the classes, I just felt like there was more to look at so I would make up for it and do research in my own time and occasionally include it in the notes if I deemed it worthy, I wanted to get an overall understanding of the module so that I could have a strong foundation for the projects. Taking class notes could either be difficult or easy, as I had to really focus which I can struggle with occasionally, but once I did it would be fine, another reason this impacted me was just the actual lesson, If it was something I wasn’t interested in I would still take notes but I would slightly shut off, meaning I’d have to re-read certain lectures and follow up after class. But overall each class had it’s own interests and I enjoyed the occasional task here and there.
I will say I didn’t enjoy the music app project, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t try, I even added some unnecessary features like flipping an album cover to see the back, I know the project’s main focus was the Icons and recreating a music UI but I just lost my enjoyment throughout it, I worry this may impact the project a little, but I looked through it and created a lot for it and pushed it I still think it is really solid and works well.
I did enjoy this project and I was happy I was allowed to experiment and choose a un-conventual design for the dashboard, I did find my challenges and I worked through them but overall I think it is a really good dashboard that showcases data in a unique way, I wouldn’t mind doing a similar project in the future but for a different reason I.E stock market dashboard
Overall I did enjoy this module as it did have its moments but I’m glad it is over as I just found it challenging to be engaged constantly for it, I did enjoy my banking project a lot more but that didn’t mean I didn’t put the effort in for this module as that is not the way to learn. You will have to learn something you don’t really feel like doing or care about and that’s okay, what isn’t okay is putting the bare-minimum into the notes and the projects because of that, and I hope that through all my notes and my projects that I have shown I have put a great deal of effort into my work and have tried to create something interactive, memorable and strong, and I hope I have achieved that.
