What is a Visa?

A Visa is a conditional authorisation granted by a territory to a foreigner, allowing them to enter, remain within, or to leave that territory. The U.S. student visa will allow you to remain in the U.S. as a student for the duration of your program and allow you to return to your home country.

When you get your passport is returned with your visa in it, there will be a large sticker of the J1 visa approval

Visa Process Overview

Step 1: Review the DS-2019 sent by email by ISEP

Step 2: Print and Sign if no errors.

Step 3: Complete the DS-160 online Non-immigrant Visa Application

Step 4: Pay the Visa Application Fee and the SEVIS I-901 Fee

Step 5: Schedule an Interview Appointment with your Local U.S Embassy or Consulate

Step 6: Gather your Documents & Attend the Appointment

Complete steps 1-5 within 2 weeks of getting the DS-2019

It was stated the DS-2019 will hopefully be sent before the 17th April 2026

We should let ISEP know of any changes or issues after reading through your DS-2019

If Visa delays threaten to delay your arrival, you Must contact ISEP and your Host University Immediately
