What is Playful Interactions?

It’s about designing for the future but it’s also designed to train your brain to get used to designing the future. We’re good at websites and apps, but things like VR or AR glasses we’re not use to, how would we design for that, and make it playful.

We are being pushed to have fun and be a bit more experimental. We need to focus on designing services that are playful and intuitive for users. This module is to empower us to design those services, embracing advanced prototyping, VR, AR etc

Research

I decided for this lecture just to shut up and listen, then do some research afterwards into some of the stuff that Kyle mentioned or I felt were relevant to this lecture

Future UI’s in Games

I wanted to look at some user interfaces/design that were futuristic in games

Marathon

Marathon is an upcoming first-person shooter video game developed and published by Bungie. and it’s design is surreal, brutalist and futuristic

I love this neon & brutal vibe, it gives off the cybernetic setting well using barcode and random numbers below the logo

The UI itself is lovely and easy to understand, although it may be a little too cluttered. It doesn’t hide any details nor is it extra in terms of design

Cyberpunk 2077

This has and will always be one of my favourite designs in media, I’ve done research about it before for a project (XP Bank) because I really wanted to do it, but sadly it was scrapped as it may be too intimidating, and That is true, I don’t think I would use this Design for something domestic or to be used everyday, But I still think it has some cool ideas worth exploring
