Visual Weight - Is how much an element in design stands out and grabs our attention.

We can make something stand out by making it darker or bigger, colour is also another factor that would achieve this. Google Gemini and Gov UK can be used as examples.

Golden Ratio - the ratio between two elements

Where the length of the larger element (B) is roughly 1.618 times bigger than the smaller element (A)

It is found in Nature, such as the seashells and the relationship between the parts of the human body, It’s been used for centuries in art, architecture etc

We can use it as a size guide to determine the size and spacing of each element and, in turn, create a wireframe that we can add to our visual design to

Wireframe- an outline of a design layout showing the structure and functionality of an interface before the visual design is considered.

Fibonacci sequence - is a series of numbers where each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers

1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89,144,233

If you divide any number in the sequence by its preceding number you’ll get a result that is close to the golden ration

34/21 =1.619
