A landing page is the page on which people land on your Brand, directing people to your app and telling the user what it is, It’s almost like an introduction for the user, A single page website is all that is required
The url you go to for any given brand, that domain is something you need to register, getting a good domain is part of the process of your brand identity, I looked up my banks brand it was nearly 3 million.
When buying a domain, bots will try and scalp the domain name, so it’s important when you see one you like, you should get it.
A good way to own your domains is by using the website Dream Host. You own your domain and you can easily see where it is.
We then looked at how we would actually register a brand, Firstly you go onto the gov.uk website and then search for trademark classes, to make it easy to understand, say you want to name your brand sharpie, now for a pen you couldn’t use that as the class has been taken, but if you were to name a bank after sharpie you could get away with that as why should a name be used once for one product when that same word could have multiple meanings
They’re grouped into multiple classes labelled class 9 or class 36, the one here that we’re not looking for is the class 36 which is the bank. I searched XP in class and here are the results, you’ll notice a lot of technology appears.
Luckily, my banks name does not fall under class 36.
Here are some points to consider when you are designing a landing page
