In todays lesson we had a critique session for our Design Essay Website, Below I will be going over each chunk of my website and the feedback I received, Here is the link to my project:
So for the opening bit heres the feedback i got, the rectangular boxes could be used to connote the order of my topics with the colour being the key, I was also told to make my quote bigger and more legible, i also got recommended a better font to use for my headings called “Hitchcock” I don’t know how i’d be able to import a downloaded font into my code so I will try and learn how to do that
For intro there were some good points, the black illustrations were appreciated stating how there should be more focus on them, There was some praise for the heading font so maybe i could put the Hitchcock font in the opening title and WendyOne can be my headings etc. I also was suggested to use this off white colour more as the stark contrast between the colours make it a little hard on the eyes, so definitely a good suggestion
For this section and for all sections really the main feedback i got was to make the font bigger, it is a little hard to read from afar, it is AA so I should aim to make it AAA. also I was suggested to divide the subheadings, I also got some words dedicated to the bottom 3 images stating they don’t work well with the red, so I may do what I did with the AT&T logos.
I got some advice with the heading font stating it should be more grainy to resemble the shining title, I also got some help with CSS angle text being referred to a website for it. I was recommended a book by Paul to read for CSS
Jon Duckett - HTML and CSS Design and Build Websites (2011, Wiley)
I wasn’t really given much for this section other than the white background idea, I don’t if that would particularly work with the poster reference so some much needed experimentation is needed, I was told as well to be mindful of how images will look on the coloured background, e.g. being the Lawry’s logo.
