Here is some constructive criticism I received during class, In this page I will look through it, maybe talk about it, and then put it into practice

Feedback from Kyle

I got feedback from Kyle which was tough, but fair. He mentioned how the background is okay, maybe a solid background would work better with some assets like the JFK search result, He also said that colour contrast is important and the swirl may hurt it

He also mentioned how for the prompts screen that the Labels and Icons on prompts need to balanced, for this I don’t know. maybe I’ll make the icons more simpler or smaller or get rid of them.

Then there were some nitpicks which are fair, He said to make the listening a bit smaller. fix the chunk of text on JFK - no centre, keep left line same

He had some ideas like saying how to use it would work well to help understand the app, so an animation or motion graphic would work, there was also the idea to replace the thinking with something else maybe a loading bar. I like this idea he suggested which was to make the map simpler, almost compass which covers major points and shows your location.

Anything I didn’t include from this was either because it was already done, talked about by kyle or irrelevant

What Worked

This is useless, I don’t need to hear that the colour blue is nice. Anything from that is just something to boost the ego and it doesn’t help me change anything. I’m glad the name AVA is cool but I don’t care, destroy my work so I can repair it to be stronger.

Questions

1. For directions, why is it differently aesthetically compared to other screens, i get it needs to be bigger but you could use the globe style to put navigation in to match - I wanted it to be similar to the apple maps, I just recreated it really, changing colours here and there. But Kyle suggested a better idea for it which I will do.
2. Can you see similarly to Chat GPT, recent searches? - No. But not a bad idea
3. Does it stay on idol? or home screen - Well it wasn’t prototyped but it does move, but as soon as you look away from your watch it would reset back to the home screen

Changes

Here are some changes I took into mind and I will show the changes to the screen

• Prompt Suggestions bars could be smaller, the icon and name could fit beside each other rather than under, the Icons feel out of place, quite bulky for a minimal design

I made the box smaller but the same width, I made the icons smaller and edited the stopwatch icon by removing the dashes, I removed the swirl background and made it a white background for some cohesion
