This is a introductory call with our mentor Richard Good, In this I want to plan some talking points and it’ll also have some notes from the call
Our project is about helping people leave prison and transition into community. We’re working with the South Eastern Health and Social Trust and NIPS, we’re looking at how to stop people from losing their health and progress when they leave prison. Through research It’s a massive system challenge involving housing, GP appointments, and even just getting a ID or a phone.
Your role as our mentor is to essentially answer some of the questions we have and help us better understand a prisoners life, struggles and opportunities.
We have to video call you but I may send the odd email from time to time, We would really want you to be involved as you can directly help us to help prisoners
I would like to know about the group call that you have been organising, I think it is brilliant and would help our group a lot, I would like to know how many are there, who they are/what are their backgrounds, some more information would help us form questions.
Thankfully Richard showed up and we got chatting!
We just introduced ourselves and our group, talked about how dreadful group projects can be and he said what his plan was, So he was wanting to have us actually come in and meet some convicts
We love the idea, but we would be more comfortable with either Maira or Paul. So I wrote an email better explaining what was happening
Overall it was nice to meet Richard and as a group we look forward to this partnership and what we can create.
